Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2015 April - Happy

Just popping in to share my version of Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2015 for April. You can find the techniques and tutorial I used for the tag here. This is a challenge I love to participate in because I alway learn something new!! I have owned the Distress Marker Spritzer for a while now but this is the first time I have ever used it!

I started with a #8 manila tag and covered it with a pretty, patterned paper from the Tim Holtz Wallflower paper line. Next I stamped the flowers with the Flower Garden Stamp Set and colored and added shading to the flowers with Distress Markers.

Then I used the Distress Marker Spritzer to add the speckles of ink. I love the effect. I don't why I waited so long to give this tool a try.

I followed Tim's Tutorial to add the slit in the tag. The hearts are cut with the Tim Holtz Sizzix SHAPE STRIPS Thinlits Die. The heart is a Tim Holtz Idea-ology HEART CHARMS Custom Metal embellishment and I added a little heart to the center. Lastly I added machine stitching around the edges and dyed my ribbon to match the tag with a Distress Marker.

Thanks for stopping by!

You Had Me at Aloha

Can it already be Monday! I had a very busy weekend and it just went too fast. But I do have a scrapbook page to share today.

The photo is from a family Hawaiian vacation. My girls are on each end of the photo and the girls in the middle are their cousins. I love that they are all to close to each other.

For inspiration for the layout I used this month's SFYTT and some fun Reverse Confetti stamps and dies.

I recently purchased my first Quick Card Panels, Pina Colada. I used them here to add pattern to my page. The cute pineapples are perfect. Up in the right corner I used a sentiment from the Here's the Story Stamp Set and the die cut arrow with the Documented Confetti Cuts

I used another Pina Colada Quick Card Panel on the left side and stamped another sentiment from the Here's the Story Stamp Set. The "&" die is also from the Documented Confetti Cuts

The pineapples are perfect embellishments for this layout, stamped with the Pineapples Aplenty Stamp Set and cut out with the Pineapples Aplenty Confetti Cuts. I used the Triple Chevies Confetti Cuts to add the black arrows.

Off to work! Have a great week!

Baby Girl Mini Album

I spent this last weekend finishing up a mini album I have been working on for a co-worker. It's pink and feminine for a new little girl. I am working with lots of Maya Road embellishments and papers from the  Maggie Holmes Confetti paper line.

I painted the chipboard album with a coat of gesso and then a coat of Antique Linen Distress Paint. The word "sweet" is a Maya Road chipboard word that I embossed with gold embossing powder. I die cut the onesie with the Little Bits - Onesie die from Taylored Expressions.

I am keeping the album closed with an elastic band from Tim Holtz.

Here's the inside cover and front page. I added a pocket where you can write something special and a place to add a picture. The sentiment is from the Reverse Confetti Fancy Word Coordinates Stamp Set.

Here I added a paper doily sponged with pink ink and just played with the embellishments until I had a layout I liked. The word "always" is embossed with an embossing enamel.

I added some stenciling to the page on the left with the MFT Concentric Circles Stencil. I added another pocket for extra photos or keepsakes.

I love the little burlap banner from Maya Road! I strung them together with gold thread. The word "hello" is one of Maya Road's cute metal clips.

I added a piece of vellum to the page on the left. I added a few highlights to the wooden owl with a Copic Marker.

I added sequins to a vellum envelope.

And here's a look at the last page and inside back cover.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a good week!

Embellished Gift Tags

Thanks for stopping by today! On my last post I mentioned I had been working my scrap room and organizing my embellishments.  I shared a card I created with some of those embellishments. Well it was so much fun I decide to make a few tags. I LOVE having tags to ready to go in my stash. A pretty tag can dress up the plainest gift bag and make it special.

On these tags most of my embellishments are from Maya Road. Who doesn't love pretty flowers, doilies, and pearl stick pins! The kraft ticket is from Maya Road and the sentiment is from the Birthday Greetings stamp set.

My next tag is made for a handmade gift. I often give card sets to my friends as part of their birthday presents. They have made it perfectly clear that they hope to receive a set each year! I added embroidery floss to the wooden spools, prefect with the button stick pins.

My last tag is really for any occasion. The camera  and the sentiment are from a stamp set by Maya Road. I cut it out and added a rhinestone to the lens. I added a button to a paper clip and some gold glittered tape.

The patterned paper used for my tags are from the Maggie Holmes Confetti 6 x 6 pad.

Thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday - Playing with Embellishments

Hi! I know my blog has been a little quite for the past week. Have you ever noticed that things seem to happen all at once! I have been pretty busy at both work and home lately. Truly I think time in my scrap room is the best therapy!

With the little time I had I created this  birthday card for a friend.

For inspiration I used the Deconstructed Sketch No. 196. I have been working on cleaning and organizing my space so I decided to just play with some of the embellishments in my stash from Maya Road

The patterned paper is from the Maggie Holmes Confetti 6 x 6 pad. The sentiments are from the PTI Bountiful Banners Stamp Set and the Paper Smooches Salutations Stamp Set. The stitched panels and card stock are from MFT

I just played around with my Maya Road embellishments until I has happy with the layout and added a few sequins from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by! I will have some fun embellished tags to share later this week.

Happy Birthday Shaker Card

Hi and thanks for stopping by! I have a birthday card to share today using one my favorite Paper Smooches Stamp Sets, Blossoming Buds

Then sentiment is from the Salutations Stamp Set. I sponged the background with a pale, yellow ink to keep the soft look, used foam tape to build up the shaker, and added a piece of clear acetate behind the card front.

The flower image is colored with Copic Markers and I added a little sparkle with a Wink of Stella Clear Pen. The stamped image is die cut with the Blossom Icons Dies.

Have a great week!

The Best of Times

Hi and thanks for stopping by today! And Happy Easter weekend! It is beautiful here in San Diego, definitely feels like spring.

The other day I found my girls pulling out old photo albums and just laughing and enjoying the memories. It reminded me why its important to print out some of those photos on my computer. And it really doesn't matter if those photos are perfect, it is about the memory. These were taken with my phone and the lighting wasn't perfect, but they definitely capture the day.

Most of the papers and embellishments are from the Studio Calico March Scrapbook Kit and the layout is based on the sketch challenge

I ran a washi tape from the kit down the center of the page and used the gold foil letters for the title. I also added touches of gold with the metal paper clips, gold metallic thread, and the black on gold sentiments.

Here a closer look at the bottom of the page. Love this fun layout.

Thanks!

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Beginnings

Hi and thanks for stopping by today. I am so excited to be the Guest Designer again for the new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge. The Curtain Call inspiration photo just says Spring!

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

Beginnings

Here my take on the challenge.

I made this sweet, little gift bag from a unfinished wood box from the local craft store.

I sanded the wood a bit, and then painted the box with Gesso. After the coat of Gesso had dried I painted the box with Tim Holtz Distress Paint in Antique Line.

Then I added pattern to the box with the Petal Circle Stencil and Salty Sea Distress Ink. The tag is created with Reverse Confetti's Folded Tag Sentiments Stamp set and the Folded Tag Confetti Cuts. The flowers are from Prima.
