Crazy 4 Challenges - Saltwater

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are having a great weekend. This is my last week as  Guest Designer over at Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Be sure to stop by their blog for all the details. Thanks for asking me Barbara! It's been fun

This week's challenge is School's Out!!
Or soon will be in the US. What are your fun plans for vacation this summer? Going on a trip, the beach, hanging around the pool? Gardening? Just plain chilling out? Whatever your plans are, use them to inspire your card or project for this week.

Living in San Diego, we spend a lot of time at the beach in the summer. And I just love the sentiment on this card. The ocean truly does feed my soul!

I used the Inspired by the Sea Stamp Set to create my card. I stamped the shell in Whip Cream Ink and and then heat set the image with embossing powder. I cut the image out with the Pierced Circle STAX Die-namics, layering the circle on a doily cut with the Dizzy Doily Die-namics.

The sentiment is cut out with the Vertical Stitched Strips Die-namics. I added some burlap and twine from my stash.

On the inside I stamped a sentiment from the Fall Foliage Stamp Set.

MFT'S Creative Challenge - Crafting for the Men in Your Life

Thanks for stopping by for MFT's May Creative Challenge. This month's challenge is all about the boys in our lives. All too often, the boys and men in our life get lost in the shuffle when it comes to handmade cards and gifts. With Father’s Day approaching, we couldn’t think of a better time to get in touch with our masculine side.

I really enjoy having a stash of tags ready to go, but I don't ever seem to make masculine tags. So today I have four tags to share with you.

The base of all my tags are cut with the Pierced Traditional  and Traditional STAX Die-namics.

For my first tag I used the Suit and Tie Die-namics. Before I cut the suit I stamped a piece of Steel Grey Card Stock with the Pinstripe Background Stamp in Sweet Tooth Ink. The sentiment if from the Clearly Sentimental about Fathers Stamp Set and cut out with a die included in the Sentiment Strips Die-namics.

My second tag again uses the  Suit and Tie Die-namics to cut the tie. I also used the Pinstripe Background Stamp before I cut out the tie, only on the tie I used the stamp on the diagonal, using Electric Red Ink

I used burlap for the background and added the circle with the Pierced Circle Stax Die-namic and Night  Shift Blue Card Stock. This sentiment is also from the Clearly Sentimental about Fathers Stamp Set .

On this tag I used the Pegboard Cover-Up Die-namics for the background. The tools are created with the dies in the Tool Time Die-namics. And the sentiment is from the Clearly Sentimental about Grandparents Stamp Set, stamped in Sweet Tooth Ink and embossed with white embossing powder.

My final tag is birthday themed. I used the Accent It - Rock and Roll Die-namics. The star is cut from gold glittered card stock.  The "Rock On" Sentiment is from the  Document It - Rock On Stamp Set, stamped in gold Ink, then embossed with gold embossing powder. The "It's Your Birthday" if from the Journal It - Playlist Stamp Set.

Here are the products I used to create my tags:

Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge - Playing with Metal

Hi and thanks for stopping by today! I am excited to be Guest Designing for the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog this month. It's been fun Gloria! Thanks for having me!

Here's the new challenge. Do you hoard gears, pins, brads, eyelets, frames, and other metal do-dads? Do you have a thing for tiny light bulbs and glass vials? Do junk drawers make you giddy? Do you hang out in office supply stores so you can score funky paperclips? Do bottle caps make you swoon? Dig through your hoard to find something metal or glass (or both) and make a project to share!

And I have to say I so love metal embellishments! I definitely tend to hoard them!

And here is the gift set I created based on the challenge. I started by just going through my stash and pulling out some metal embellished, flowers, stick pins, buttons, and resin embellishments that I thought might go together. And then I just starting playing!

The tag is die cut with MFT's Pierced Traditional Tags STAX Die-namics and the pattern paper is from Tim Holtz. The doily is die cut with the Dainty Doily Duo Die-namics and the sentiment is from the Birthday Greetings Stamp Set.

The box is a round cardboard box you can pick up at your local craft store. I covered the sides and top of the box with patterned paper  and added ribbon around the rim . Then I just played with the embellishments until I came up with a mixture that I liked, using my glue gun to adhere the items to the box.

Crazy 4 Challenges Week 4 - The More the Candles

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are having a great weekend. I am the month long Guest Designer over at Crazy 4 Challenges blog, and this week Barbara has given us a fun color challenge to work with, her favorite, Kraft, Orange, and Turquoise!

I am using two of my very favorite dies on this birthday card. The background is created with the Polka Dot Cover-Up Die-namics and the frame is cut with the Insert It - InstaFrame Die-namics. I used corrugated paper for the frame.

The orange strip across the front is stamped with the Linen Background Stamp in Orange Fizz Ink on Orange Fizz Card Stock, and then cut out with the Vertical Stitched Strips Die-namics. The sentiment if from the Birthday Greetings Stamp Set. The little embellishment is put together with the Mini Doily Circles Dienamics, a wooden button, and the Party Hat Border Die-namics.

The sentiment on the inside is also from the Birthday Greetings Stamp Set.

Hope you get a chance to play along!
