MFT187 - Happy Birthday

Hi and thanks for stopping by today! Its Wednesday which means it is time for a new  MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge, MFTWS187All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT blog. I hope you get a chance to play along!

Here is my take on the sketch.

I started by putting together the background for my card. To cut the panel I used a die from Blueprints 10. I used the Gingham Background and Linen Background stamps to create the background patterns.

I used the Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX Die-namics to cut the Wild Cherry Card Stock and burlap banners.

The word "happy" is die cut with the Happy Die-namics. The sentiment is from the Happy Everything Stamp Set and cut out with a die included in the Sentiment Strips Die-namics.

The flower embellishment is created with the Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose and Leaf-Filled Flourish Die-namics.

On the inside I stamped sentiments with the  Happy Everything and Delicious Birthday Stamp Sets.

MFTWSC186 - Sweet Birthday Wishes

Hi and thanks for stopping by today! I am playing along with the week's  MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge, MFTWS186All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT blog. I hope you get a chance to play along!

Here is my take on the sketch.

To start off my card I used the Grid Stencil and Banana Split Ink to create the background pattern. I added some red bakers twine and a sentiment from the Sweet Birthday Wishes Stamp Set with Nightshift Blue Ink

I used the Confetti Background Stamp to add pattern to the Nightshift Blue Card Stock, stamping with Sweet Tooth Ink. The circle is cut with the Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics, cutting two circles, one for Sno Cone Card Stock and once from MFT Vellum. I like the way the weight of this vellum just softens the look but still lets the color through.

These three images are from the Sweet Birthday Wishes Stamp Set and cut out with the coordinating Sweet Birthday Wishes Die-namics. I colored with Copics and added a coat of Sheer Sparkle Glitter Glaze to the balloon.

I added the the two fishtails that are peeking out behind the circle with the Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics.

On the inside I stamped another sentiment and image from the Sweet Birthday Wishes Stamp Set.

MFT's July Creative Challenge - Improving on Pattern Perfection

Thanks for stopping by for MFT's July Creative Challenge. This month's challenge is Improving on Pattern Perfection. Classic patterns never go out of style, but thanks to the plethora of designs we offer, your projects will never feel dated. Join our designers as they inspire you with trendy and innovative projects centered on the pinnacle of patterns: the time-honored stripe.

I have two cards to share with you today.

My first card uses the Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp. I stamped in Versamark Ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Then I used a sponged and four MFT Premium Dye Inks, Sno Cone, Berrylicious, Grape Jelly, and Nightshift Blue to apply the shades of colors.

I used the TRANSFORM-ables Smile Die-namics to create the frame with the smile sentiment. I added a doily in the corner with the Mini Doily Circles Die-namics. The sentiment is from the Smile Stamp Set and cut out with the Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics. Behind the frame a added a piece of MFT Vellum

The flower embellishment is put together with the Plentiful Petals and Fancy Flourish Die-namics.

On the inside I stamped a sentiment from the Birthday Greetings Stamp Set.

My next card has a much more masculine feeling card. Here is used the Stripes Stencil and black embossing paste to added the striped pattern. Then I added a strip of gold glittered card stock with the Horizontal Stitched Strips Die-namics.

The guitar and the star are created with dies in the Accent It - Rock and Roll Die-namics and the circles are cut with the Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics.

The sentiment is from the Journal It - Playlist Stamp Set. I added the stripes to the inside with the Stripes Cover-Up Die-namics.
