MFTWSC126 - A Friendly Light

Thanks for stopping by for another MFT Sketch Challenge, MFTWSC126.  You will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money. Hope you have a chance to play along this week!

I have to say I really like this week's sketch! My stamped image is from the Inspired by Lighthouses Stamp Set and colored with Copic Markers. I also added details to the water with Copic Opaque. I framed the image with the LLD Insert It - InstaFrame Die-namics cut from corrugated paper. InstaFrame is one of my favorite dies!

The background is created by using one of the stamps in the LJD Western Backgrounds Stamp Set, and stamping with Kraft Ink onto Kraft Card Stock. The sentiment is from the stamp set and cut out with the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics.

Wheel is cut from light weight Chipboard with one of the dies in the Sea Charms Die-namics and then embossed.

On the inside I stamped another lighthouse from the stamp set in Kraft Ink and a sentiment from Finishing Flourishes.

We'd love for you to play along!  You can get all the details HERE on our SCS Forum. You'll need to upload your card in the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, MFTWSC125. You will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money. One winner is chosen at random each week!

MFTWSC125 HELLO!

It's Wednesday and time for another MFT Sketch. This week, we are up to MFTWSC125! You will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money. Hope you have a chance to play along this week!

Here is take on the sketch. I used the LLD Insert It - 3x4 Notepad Die-namics for the notebook paper and matted it on a piece of cork. I added a small binder clip from my stash. "Hello" is cut out with the Happy Hellos Die-namics and mounted on patterned paper cut with with the Fishtail Flags Layers STAX Die-namics.

I created the flowers with the Mini Hybrid Rose and Royal Leaves Die-namics. The sentiment is from the LJD Sweet Roses Stamp Set.

On the inside I added a rose from the  LJD Sweet Roses Stamp Set and left a blank area to write a note.  The rose is colored with Copics.

We'd love for you to play along!  You can get all the details HERE on our SCS Forum. You'll need to upload your card in the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, MFTWSC125. You will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money. One winner is chosen at random each week!

MFT's May Creative Challenge

Welcome to MFT's May Creative Challenge!

The MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month, April Showers bring May Flowers!  Look forward to an assortment of flower-filled creations from today's participating designers.  Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all the designers who have a project to share with you today.

For the challenge I created a scrapbook page using the beautiful Hybrid Heirloom Rose Die-namics.

This is first time I used a light molding paste with a stencil. I love the effect! First I marked on my page where my photos would go and then added the music paper. Then I spread a light layer of molding paste on the stencil. I allowed the paste to dry for a while and then used my heat gun.

I used Gelotos to added the shading. This is how it looks before I used water.

I used a paint brush to spread the color, but you don't want your paint brush to get to wet when you are working directly on card stock.

In the corner I used the negative of the word "love" cut out with the High-Rise Alphabet Uppercase Die-namics in Electric Red Card Stock.

I used the Large and Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose Die-namics to create the flowers. I used Electric Red and Lemon Drop Card Stock. On the yellow roses I sponged on MFT Ink in Orange Fizz.

The flourish is cut with the Large Leafy Flourish Die-namics. I also added a few sequins.

Here is a closer look at the molding paste. The sentiment is from the Complimentary Greeting Stamp Set.
