Joy - MFTWSC100

Hi all and thanks for stopping by today. I have another fun sketch challenge today. I can't believe it is week 100 of our MFT'S WSC Getting Sketchy Challenge. You will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money.

I created a Poinsettia as the center piece of my card using the Poinsettia Die-namics and MFT Wild Cherry Cardstock.  The papers are from Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage.

In the corner I stamped a sentiment from the Seasonal Sentiments Stamp Set and cut it out with one of the Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics.

I lightly dusted the Poinsettia with glitter and added a rhinestone to the center of the flower. The leaves are cut from MFT felt in Jellybean Green.

On the inside I stamped another sentiment for Seasonal Sentiments.

You can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog and the MFT forum on SCS (look for the most recent WSC thread).  You'll need to upload your card in the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, MFTWSC100. You will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money. One winner is chosen at random each week!

MFT November Creative Challenge

The MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month, we were challenged to create Holiday Home Decor using our MFT Stamps and Die-namics.  Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have a project to share with you today.

I had picked up an unfinished wooden sleigh at Michael's a couple of months ago. I wanted to embellish it to used to hold Christmas Cards and other little items I might want to save from the holidays.

This is what the sleigh looked like before I started. I sanded it lightly and added a coat Gesso on the parts that I planned on painting. After the Gesso dried I added two coats of the red paint.

Then I traced around the parts of the sleigh I wanted to cover with paper.

I used the Poinsettia Die-namics to create my flowers. They are cut from MFT Wild Cherry cardstock and I lightly brushed on some red Stickles and added pearls to the center of my flower. The leaves are cut from Jellybean Green cardstock and felt

The roses are cut with the Royal Rose Die-namics from MFT Felt in Whip Cream.

I used the Large Leafy Flourish Die-namics to add the flourishes to each end of the sleigh. The I added some small pine cones, berries, and metal flowers from my stash.

I used one of the Triple Scallops Border Die-namics for the border on the edges of the sleigh.

I covered the ends are portions of the inside of the sleigh with paper.

Inside I used a sentiment from Seasonal Sentiments and the Clearly Sentimental Label Die-namics.

Taylored Expressions November Studio Challenge

It’s Black Friday and it's time for the Baker's Dozen Studio Challenge and a BIG Black Friday Sale at Taylored Expressions!

And we are releasing a brand new set of Stacklets today - Labels Stacklets 3! This Stacklets set coordinates with Frame It Up 1 die and can be purchased today as part of the sale!

The question for November Baker's Studio Challenge is:

As crafters, we often talk about a hand-crafted Christmas. How much stamping do you do for the holidays?  Do you mail hand-stamped cards, make gift packaging, tags, handmade gifts?  Or do you stamp year-round, but not so much for Christmas?  Please show us some handmade tags and share a tip or two on how to keep stamping fun for the holidays.

I enjoy stamping ALL year but I look forward to creating projects for the holidays. I usually start in October and try to have some cards, packaging and tags ready to go when I need them. Tags can dress up any package, can be created fairly quickly, and are easy to mass produce.

I am excited about the new Label Stackets  Die Set. I usually use the Frame It Up 1 Die for the base of my tag. Now I can layer my tags!

For this set of tags I am using the Totally Tags Holiday Stamp Set and the coordinating Totally Tags Dies. My papers are from Simple Stories Handmade Holidays. I did all my stamping Memento Rich Cocoa Ink. Here I colored with Copic Markers. Behind the tag I used the Small Layering Doily Die. The holly leaves are cut with one of the dies in the Very Merry Outlines Die Set.  I added rhinestones and twine to tie the tag on any size package.

Here are cut snowflakes with the Make A Snowflake Die Set, brushed on glue, and sprinkled them with glitter, and added a rhinestone to the center.

The mitten are also cut with a die from the Very Merry Outline Die Set. I also added a button tied with twine.

Here are used on of my very favorite Taylor Dies, Trim A Tree. I cut the star from glittered paper and added rhinestones. The hill is hand cut and I added a little glitter.

It wouldn’t be Black Friday without a sale! Just enter coupon code BLACKFRIDAY2012 on your order at the TE Store Friday through Monday to save 10-30% off your entire order! The earlier you shop, the MORE you save! Details on the TE Store homepage.

Be sure to stop by all the Baker's Dozen Blogs today for more tag inspiration!

MFTWSC99 - Joy

Hi all and thanks for stopping by today. I have another fun sketch challenge today. It's week 99 of our MFT'S WSC Getting Sketchy ChallengeYou will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money.

Here is my take on the sketch! You have no idea how hard it is for me to slant those panels on my card! Love the way a good sketch pushes you out of your comfort zone.

First I created my calendar panel using LLD Journal It - Calendar Basics Stamp Set and MFT Wild Cherry Ink and then cut it out with the Die-namics LLD Insert It - 3x4 Insert. I used one the dies in the Mini Tabs Foursome Die-namics and a sentiment from Seasonal Sentiments for the tab on the side.

The border running up the left side is cut with the Dainty Lace Border Die-namics.

I cut out the wreath three times with the Winter Wreaths Die-namics and added the bow and rhinestone.

On the inside I stamped a sentiment from the Seasonal Sentiments Stamp Set.

You can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog and the MFT forum on SCS (look for the most recent WSC thread).  You'll need to upload your card in the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, MFTWSC99. You will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money. One winner is chosen at random each week!

These pictures are from our trip to Praque last spring. My daughter had studied aboard in Prague during college and she as so excited to share the city with us. We got see where she lived, where she studied, and all her favorite sites. So this is my scrap page based on this month's challenge. The papers are from Teresa Collins.

In the top left corner I stamped a sentiment from LLD Journal It - Top Ten and cut out with a die from the Accent It - Flags & Tags Die-namics

Here I used the Accent It - Story Starters Die-namics and added a Tim Holt clock.

I created a journaling card using the Insert It - 3 x 4 Insert Die-namics and the lined stamp in the LLD Journal It - Top Ten.

The date is stamped with stamps from LLD Document It - Days and Dates. "Praque Revisited was printed from my laptop and cut out with the File Tab Die-namics.
