Thanks Taylor!!

This will be my last post as a member of the Taylored Expression Baker's Dozen Team. I've had the most wonderful time working with Taylor and her dedicated, creative, and talented design team for the past two years. I was so honored when Taylor asked me to be a member of the Baker's Dozen. It has been a pleasure to get to know Taylor, to meet her and her family in person, and be a part of her growing stamp company. Stepping down from Taylor's Design Team was a difficult decision and I will miss being part of this team!

Taylor, THANK YOU so much for the wonderful opportunity! It has truly has been a joy to work with you and your products. You are so generous and supportive. I am sure I will still be one of your customers!!

To the Bakers Dozen, I feel blessed to have gotten to know each and everyone of you and to call you my friend! You are one talented group of ladies and I have learned so much from you. It is not goodbye, I will be stopping by your blogs!

I would like share with you just a few of my favorite projects I have created as a member of the TE Design Team.

A tag can add that special touch to any package, and I LOVE using Taylor's Dies and Stamps to create them. The Label Stacklets 3 is my favorite die for the base of my tags!

One of my very favorite TE stamp lines is the Flower Bouquets. There is one for every season! This card uses the Mixed Blooms Stamp Set.

I love the creativity of Taylor's Dies. The Pinwheel Parade Dies are the perfect size for cards.

Another one of my favorite TE stamp lines are the Seasonal Wreaths. I love wreath images and Taylor has one for every occasions. This card uses the Rose Wreath and is cut out with the coordinating Seasonal Wreath Die.

And this is just one of my favorite cards. I love the pretty stamps in the Forever In Bloom Stamp Set.

Thanks for everything Taylor! Thank you Jami for keeping me organized. And thank you to all the TE customers who have supported me with your sweet comments!

Hand Knit

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas Holiday. I've had five full days fun, family, and blessings, including a engagement party for one of my nieces. Today I think I am going to stay in my PJ's!

I am finally getting a chance to to share a card I made using Taylored Expressions Moka Nancy and Jen's Deconstructed Sketch No. 82.

I used papers from My Mind's Eye 6x6 Pad - Lost & Found 3 Oliver. I added machine stitching, lace, and ribbon.

The image is colored with Copics and I sponged Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen on the edges.

On the inside I stamped a sentiment and another image from the stamp set.

I used a 12 x 12 piece of kraft cardstock as my base and then papers from Simple Stories Fabulous. I added a strip of burlap up the side to add some texture to the page.

So let's start at the top of the page. I stamped a sentiment from the LLD Document It - Captured Memories Stamp Set and cut it out with the File Tab Die-namics.

Here I used a sentiment from the LJD On the Line Stamp Set and cut it out with circle dies from the Circle STAX Die-namics 1 and 2

Here I used the Die-namics LLD Insert It - InstaFrame to frame the picture, a sentiment from the LLD Document It - Captured Memories Stamp Set, and the number 16 is cut with the Die-namics High-Rise Numbers.

In the left bottom corner I used the High-Rise Alphabet Uppercase and Lowercase Die-namics to spell Cousins. I added one the the cut cameras from the Die-namics Accent It - Cute Cameras. The sentiment is from LJD Gift Card Greetings II stamp set.

Here the sentiments are from LLD Document It - Captured Memories stamp set.

It's time for the Baker's Dozen Studio Challenge.  This is a monthly opportunity for us to share what makes our stamping studios hum.  Each month we will have a fun, crafty question so we can share our favorites, some tips and tricks, stamping advice and more.

The theme for December is:

Inpsiration is all around us.  Many of us learned to stamp by CASEing other stampers we admired.  (CASE = Copy and Share Everything)  We want everyone to know that, not only is CASEing perfectly OK, it's actually pretty flattering and a lot of fun!  And it can be especially helpful in the midst of the busy holiday season when it's hard to think straight!  So take some inspiration from your fellow Baker's Dozen Teammates, and show us how you can turn any great inspiration into a fabulous holiday card!

So the team member I am casing is Karen Giron. Karen and so sweet, always helpful and I LOVE Karen's clean, classic and sometimes whimsical stamping style! Her cards always make such a wonderful statement! I love how she uses white on her cards. Frankly white space scares me and clean and simple scares me. But I love the look and feel.

You can find Karen's card in the TE Gallery right here The TE gallery is a great source of inspiration, full of inspiration and lots of cards to case!

To turn Karen's card into a Christmas card, I used the Very Merry Stamp Set and the Very Merry Outlines and and Very Merry Scallops Dies. I used Ladybug Doodle Twine to hang the ornaments. The border on the left side is cut with the Small Scallop Border.

The layout of my card is very similar to Karen's and I did my best to leave the white space! Karen often sews on her cards, like me, so I added some stitching to this card.

The sentiment is from the stamp set and the papers are from My Mind's Eye Winter Wonderland.

On the inside I stamped a sentiment for the Very Merry stamp set and used the companion die for the word Merry.

MFT's December Creative Challenge - Background Building

The MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month, we were challenged to do some background building using our MFT Stamps and Die-namics.  Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have a project to share with you today.

I used the the Lisa Johnson Distress Diamonds Stamp Set to create my background. I just stamped in black ink on MFT Kraft Card Stock, with Black Licorice Cardstock for my card base, for a masculine look. I added MFT ribbon in Black Licorice and twine. The metal element is from my stash.

I used the Gift Card Pocket - Vertical Die-namics to create the gift card holder. After cutting out the pocket I stamped the wood grain stamp from the LJD Western Backgrounds and then a sentiment from the Gift Card Greetings Stamp Set.

On the inside I stamped a sentiment from the LJD On the Line Stamp Set.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have a project to share with you today.

Taylored Expressions December Calendar Challenge

Welcome to the Taylored Expressions December Calendar Challenge!  Each month the members of the Baker's Dozen will be showcasing a page from a specific calendar product from Taylored Expressions! And YOU can play right along with us!

I will be using the Perpetual Calendar each month. The Perpetual Occasions calendar is the perfect solution for keeping track of birthdays, anniversaries, and other important occasions!! The calendar is printed on sturdy 100 lb. white cardstock with blank inserts separating each month. The blank inserts can be decorated any way you choose. If can be used year after year and it makes a wonderful gift.
You can see all of the AMAZING calendar products right HERE.

For my December Calendar page I am using the Peppermint Palace Stamp Set. I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with my Copic Markers. I added glitter to the candy on the house and the snow flakes are done with Stickles.

The sentiment is from the set and the papers are from My Mind's Eye All Is Bright.

On the calendar portion of the page I stamp gingerbread men at the bottom of the page.

Here is a picture of the calendar before it is embellished. You can hang the calendar on the wall, or use on your desk, like I do. Since mine is laying on my desk I like to decorate the back page from the last month, but that is optional.

Head to Taylor's Blog to find out how you can play along with us!  Everyone who plays in 10 or more of these monthly calendar challenges in 2012 will be entered into a random draw for a TE prize pack valued at over $150!!!

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to stop by all the designers blogs today for lots more inspiration!
