Thank You Card

I love my new Autumn Blessing stamp set from PaperTrey Ink. I love the elegance of the set and the sentiments that can be used year round. I am working on a set of thank you notes so I will be posting a few more cards with this set. I used the Get Sketchy layout for week three. I am really enjoying their sketches!

The mums are colored with copics, cut out with nestibilities, and I added some distressing ink around the edges. I used my labels die cut for the red background. I rounded all the corners, and added lace, ribbon, and a sentiment tied on with a little twine. The final touch was a few pearls at the corners.

Hope you had a good weekend. I has been nice to have some stamping time!

A Lilac Thank You

As we all know, there are so many challenges out there! For weeks I have been wanting to give the sketch challenges over at Priscilla Styles a try. My real job has finally calmed down enough that I had a chance to take one on! Priscilla has fabulous sketches and blog candy you will not believe. You will need to take a look!

This is my take on MMSC16. I struggled a little with the sketch, but I am very happy with the outcome. The lilac stamp is by Lockhart. I colored it with my copics and cut it out with my nestibilities. The papers are Basic Grey. I did a zig zag stitch around the edges of the card and the two back panels. Then I added pearls, flowers, lace, ribbon and a sentiment from Papertrey Ink Autumn Blessing.

My tip: The pearls were a little too white for the paper. I used a Copic Marker, E53, to color the pearls to more of an ivory color.

Thanks for stopping by,
Melody

A Sweet Thank You

I have a few new PTI stamps I have been so wanting to have time to play with. There is never enough time is there! I made a couple of cards this week, one of which was with my new PTI Everyday Button Bits. I also played around with the Jen Del Muro's Sketch For You to Try.

I stampes the leaves in SU Old Olive and then cut out a little hill. I threaded the buttons with PTI twine and used glue dots to attach them. The border is two border punches in Old Olive and PTI Vintage Cream layered together. I added ribbon and lace, sponged the edges with Distressing Ink and some machine stitching around the edges. The DP is October Afternoon.
The flower is from Heidi Swapp and the sentiment is from the stamp set.

Thanks for Stopping By,
Melody

Indulge on Your Biirthday

One of my closest friend's birthday is this next week. So I decided to pull out one of my oldest stamps by Stampendous, one I still really enjoy using. Last week I mentioned a new sketch challenge site, Get Sketchy. Their first week was fun and a big success, so I used the sketch for my card is from Week 2. The bonus challenge is to use a punch.

With all the new CHA stuff arriving a my LSS, I had to pick up this new Bo Bunny paper. I just love the colors. My image is stamped with Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa, colored with my Copics and cut out with my nestibilities. I added Stickles in Scattered Straw to the frosting.

I added my paper, according to the sketch, which reminded me of quilting, so I added some stitching with my sewing machines. I did a light sponging to the edges of the paper with Tim Holtz Distressing Ink, in Tea Dye. I added lace and ribbon across the center. Then I used a punch for the flourishes, added color and some pearl rhinestones.

Thanks for stopping by,
Melody

Birthday's Rock

There are so many challenges out there you could just spend all day doing nothing else! I sure enjoy joining new challenges; it is too bad my "real" job gets in the way! This cute birthday card is for two challenges. I recently ran across a new challenge blog that is just getting started, Get Sketchy. They are giving away prizes, always an added incentive! This card is based on their first sketch. The stamp is from MFT and is for Celebrate MFT Day, celebrated on the 20th of each month at the MFT forum at Splitcoaststampers.

The image is colored with copics. The center of the drum is pieced from some Bo Bunny DP and I added a rhinestone to the center. I used some glitter pen on the drum to add some sparkle. The curved piece in the sketch was a challenge for me! I cut the shape I decided to go with, ran it through my Cuttlebug, sponged the edges and the embossed flower with Tim Holtz Distressing Ink in Worn Lipstick, and then sewed on some lace edging. I did some zig zag stitching around the edges and some more sponging, added some rhinestones to the corners and my cute sentiment. Perfect a little girls birthday!

Melody

Happy Harvest

Two posts in one day! That hardly ever happens!

Although I will be sad to see summer come to an end, I have admit that fall is my favorite season. A couple of weeks ago the challenge at Our Creative Corner was an
inspiration challenge, In rural communities, it’s almost time for harvest. Don't you just love the colors in this picture.

This was the perfect opportunity to use my new PTI set, Vintage Picnic. I stamped and colored the basket and pumpkins with my Copics. I cut out the napkin, added a little lace and popped it up on the basket. I love this image!

The DP is from Fooh La La. I added zig zag stitch around the edges with my sewing machine, brads in the corner, lace, ribbon, and the leaf charm. Just makes you feel like putting on a sweater!

Have a good day,
Melody

My Favorite Challenge - Back to School

This week, the My Favorite Challenge in the MFT Forum at Splitcoaststampers is Back to School! Create a project with a school theme. Well, my children are college age so I decided to do a little scrapbooking for the challenge. I am not really this behind on putting my kids pictures in album, but have a small pile of class pictures that have not made it in a album. Since I have started cardmaking I have started to incorporate my stamp supplies into my scrapbooking.

I used two MFT stamp sets on this layout, the new and totally cute I (heart) Books and Bling Bet for the lettering. I added a border to the bottom with a Martha Stewart punch and distressed the edges with a sponge. I used two different ribbons. the black one is from MFT. It has white stitching, which was a little too white with this paper. I colored it my E53 Copic marker to give it more cream color. I stamped the bookworm, masked him off, and stamped the books. I colored the cute bookworm with copics and cut it out with my nestibilities. "First" is stamped with Bling Bet and "Grade" is computer generated. The sentiment is punched out with a SU tag punch. I added brads to the corners, some machine stitching and a Heidi Swapp ghost flower.

I miss my little girls!

Melody

A Special Girl

Well it is a beautiful Sunday morning here. I had hoped to spend the day in my stamp room but instead I have work to do for my real job. I don't usually have to work on the weekends but I have a few things that just need to get done. Last night I took a break and made this card based on Jen del Muro's Sketch For You to Try.

I just love this "Poppy Bittybloom" from Stamping Bella. The papers are from Basic Grey. The skirt and hat are paper pieced. The larger poppy is popped up and I added rhinestones to the center. I used my sewing machine to add a little stitching. The clear flower is Heidi Swapp and I added a polka dot button from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by!

The air balloons are paper pieced and cut out with my nestibilities. I sponged the edges of the paper and then ran it though my sewing machine for extra detail. The I punched a hole and put my ribbon through it and added a metal flower from Maya Road, and a rhinestone brad.

Hope you have a great day,
Melody

First Halloween Card for the Year!

It may be only August, but I just got my new Trick or Treat with Who's That Girl, and I had to ink her up! I love the fall season, and have always enjoyed Halloween. I am happy to start early so a have a few things ready to go. I can tell that this stamp will be a favorite. For my first used of the stamp I went with a vintage, more adult style, perfect for a co-workers, but next I will probably go a different direction and do something for a younger child!  I also added a little matching treat box so I can add a little chocolate!

This project is for this week My Favorite Challenge in the MFT Forum at Splitcoast. The challenge was to use black and white or another neutral, only adding color to the image. For the card I created a front door scene, drawing in the tile entryway, using my scorepal to add some texture to the house, and added I pieced in potted plant. The papers are from Cosmo Crickett and the dress is pieced. The image is colored with Copics. The edges of the paper are sponged with distressing ink. I added brads to the corners, lace, ribbon, and a charm that says "Trick or Treat".

A long as I had everything out, I decided to add a little treat box. This cute little treat box is actually from the MFT kit I bought last month. I covered the box with the paper I used on the card. I colored a portion of the stamp image, cut it out with my nestibilities, added some lace that matched the card, and tied a ribbon around the box. The sentiment is included in the set.

Thank for looking. Looking forward to more holiday stamping!

Melody
