Girls Night Out Birthday Celebration

First, I would like to thank everyone for their wonderful, supportive comments over the last few weeks!

This is week three of the MFT Idol Challenge. This week the theme is to use MFT new stamp set, Girls night out, being released on Wednesday. It seems like most of my girls nights out revolve around celebrating birthday. This set has so many great sentiments, it makes it perfect for so many occasions. A couple of my friends have "BIG" Birthdays coming up, so I went with a Girls Night Out Birthday theme. Be sure to hop on over to Splitcoaststampers in the MFT forum to vote for your favorite! You have from 10:00 pm EST tonight to 10:00 pm EST on Wednesday to cast your vote. I would appreciate your vote!

First, I put together this keepsake hanging frame. The chipboard frame is by Kaiser. I cover each frame, made mats for the photos, added images from Girls Night Out, rhinestones on the flourishes, and put it together with ribbon. I used Tim Holtz black distressing inks on the edges.
I had a $1.99 photo album from Target. I just took out the cover and made a new one, a quick easy gift for many occasions.

This is my gift bag that matches the rest of the grouping. I used the Girls Night Out image and sentiment. Then I added the cake from You Take the Cake, the pot for Build a Bouquet, and the wine bottle and bubbles from Time for the Bubbly. I used stickles on the bubbles so that they would look like ice.

Here is my card. I wanted a gift card holder too, so on the inside of the card I made a pocket.

My "Favorite" Getaway Album

The MFT Idol Challenge continues this week. In week 9 the theme is masking. You can create anything you want but you need to include the masking technique in your project. I chose "My Favorite Getaway" as my theme this week. I have a group of girlfriends I love to hang with and we are hoping to take a little trip soon. And I know it will include all "Our Favorite Things", beach, shopping, good food, shopping, and definitely just time to relax. With that in mind, I made a keepsake album. All the "Who's That Girl" scenes are done with the masking technique.

Be sure to hop on over to Splitcoaststampers in the MFT forum to vote for your favorite! You have from 10:00 pm EST tonight to 10:00 pm EST on Wednesday to cast your vote. I would appreciate your vote!

This is the cover of my album. I used the Going Places set. First I stamped the airplane, then Who's That Girl, then the suitcases, and lastly the buildings. The album is mounted on 8x8 chipboard. I rounded two of the corner. The edges are distress with Tim Holtz Distressing Ink in Tea Dye. All the coloring is done with Copics. Her dress is pieced and I add a little camera charm and lace.

In the beach scene I used By the Seashore. I stamp my first girl, made a mask, and then stamped the second one. I did the same for the birds. Then leaving my masks in place I colored and sponged in the sand. The shells embellishment is also masked. On my spa day page, the main image is from Serenity Now, but the cup and tea bag are from Hot Stuff. The letters are chipboard that I sponged on Old Olive Ink and I added some buttons.

Anything girls' trip has to include shopping and good dining. For my shopping scene I used Tote-ally Fantastic, the awning from Meet Me at the Cafe, and a Annie Lapoint flower pot. I also reversed masked the dots on the awning with the dots in Behind the Scenes. I added ribbon and a charm and lengthened the sidewalk on both pages. In my dining scene I used Meet Me at the Cafe and Branch Out. I stamped the cafe sign, then the awing, then the main image, and lastly the branches.

The trip has to include time to relax and just enjoy each others' company! In my e-girl scene I used the shoes from Say Charge, a purse from Tote-ally Fantastic, an Annie LaPoint flower pot, and Who's That E-Girl. This one took my awhile! It was my first attempt but the masking got easier as I went along! I used chip board letters, flowers, rhinestones, and my computer. On the second page I used Here's the Scoop, the suitcases from Going Places, and the shopping bag from Say Charge.

Since I just got April's Who That Girl from Kim I just had to include it at the last minute. I just love it! I pieced the shirts and added the perfect sentiment to end my album with!

Thanks so much for stopping by and looking!

Celebrate MFT Idol Top Ten

This is my project for Week One of the MFT Idol. Much to my surprise I made it into the Top 10! There were so many wonderful entries. The theme this week is Celebration, show how happy you are to be in the Top 10. So after racking my brain for days, I used the MFT Meet Me at the Cafe for my project. What would a celebration be without a pretty party invitation, a toast for the occasion, and maybe even a party favor! Be sure to hop on over to Splitcoaststampers in the MFT forum to vote for your favorite! You have from 10:00 pm EST tonight to 10:00 pm EST on Wednesday to cast your vote.

My Celebration set includes an invitation, a bottle gift holder, and a party favor box. I used DP from October Afternoon to set my color theme. One of the things I just love about MFT stamps is that you that you can take them so many different directions, from elegant to whimsical, and for so many different age groups, from young adults to Grandmothers!

This is my invitation to the party. The dress and skirt are paper pieced. I colored with Copics. I added velvet rick rack and some MFT ribbon. The edges are distressed with Tim Holtz Distressing Ink in Tea Dye. The awning is cut from a piece of flocked paper. I inked up my Cuttlebug folder before embossing.

Here is the inside of my invitation. I glass stamp is from MFT Time of Bubbly.

I have had this bottle gift holder is my stash for awhile and decided to give it a try. I covered with DP from October Afternoon and did all the distress with Tea Dye distressing ink. I stamped the MFT image and cut in half. I used the SU scallop punch for my edging and added more black velvet rick rack. The I stamped "CELEBRATE" with the Bling "bet and added lots of rhinestones.

I also made a party favor box with some extra DP. Thanks so much for stopping by! I feel very honored to be in the Top Ten! Remember to stop by Splitcoaststampers and vote for your favorite.

A "Toteally Fantastic" Tote

This card is my audition for the MFT Idol contest on the Splitcoast MFT forum. So many great projects! Go over and take a look if you have a chance. I created a gift bag and matching card. The bag in about 3 inches wide so you have enough room to put a number of items in it.

To create the gift bag front I used the purses in the MFT Toteally Fantastic set. I stamped them and punched them out. They are colored copics and glitter pens. Then I punch out a few of the flowers in the DP and added them to the front. All the edges are sponged with Tim Holtz Distressing Ink. Then I added some brown lace and rhinestones. I used a craft bag for the base of the bag.
Here is a closed up of the detail on the bag.

This is my matching card. The main image is also from MFT Toteally Fantastic! Her skirt is pieced. Again I sponged the edges, and added brown lace, ribbon, and rinestones. The purse charm is from my stash.

This is the inside of the card.

Thanks so much for looking!
